The Halve Your Cake and Eat It Too Diet

So, I've had several comments over the past 13 weeks about my weight loss.  I figured I'd start a blog about it, cause, what else and I going to talk about and I figured it might help someone else.  So, here's my diet plan:

I switched from drinking a bottle of soda a day, 5 days a week, to the Wal-Mart brand of Mio Energy (I'll be switching to the real stuff within the next 2 weeks).  It give the caffeine I need on some days, which was the only real reason I was drinking the soda besides having something to drink at work other than tap temperature water (I drink refrigerated tap water at home), without the added calories. 
Calories in a bottle of soda: 880 (4400 a week, or about 1.26 lbs a week)

I started walking on the treadmill for 80-90 minutes a day 6 days a week and a little over 2 hours for the seventh.  This stemmed from my getting a Kindle Fire for Christmas.  You're probably wondering why the approximate times or how one relates to the other, but fellow TV addicts probably know.  An American hour long TV show lasts about 40-45 minutes without commercials (varies between episodes, even within the same show).  So, during the week, and on Saturdays, I watch 2 TV shows on my Kindle Fire while walking on the treadmill, and 3 on Sunday.
Time on treadmill: 10 hours a week, roughly 2800-3000 calories (.8-.86 lbs a week)

On top of this, I cut out all snacks (other than popcorn to start but I cut that out as well a few weeks ago) and all fast food (other than on Fridays but that usually goes to pizza) and I've cut back on portion size.  And the method of doing that is where I get the name of my diet plan. 

At lunch, I take whatever I would normally eat.  After sitting down, I separate the food into two equal parts (I halve it :) ) and only eat half at lunch.  The other half I eat for dinner.

Since starting this diet 13 weeks and 2 days ago, I've lost 38.5 lbs; slightly below 2.9 lbs per week.  My goal is a total of 83 lbs, but if I hit a point where further loss isn't possible without going to a more extreme plan, or my stomach gets perfectly flat (I doubt it) I'll stop.  I'm not going to kill myself to get thin; that's not the point of this.  The point is I'm 30 and it's about time I actually start taking care of my body... and maybe look hotter in the process.
